STEVTA Directors misuses heavy funds since releases

KARACHI: Sindh Technical Education Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) utilized heavy amount Rs. 155.697 during one quarter October to December 2015, while utilization in previous quarter was zero documents said.
According to the sources disclosed that a heavy amount have been mismanaged in various subjects of budget regarding Procurement of Computers, Hardware & I.T Equipment” for different wings of STEVTA in province, furniture and fixture, vehicles Machinery, Laboratory Apparatus for Govt. Monotechnic Institutes, even in repair and renovations millions of embezzlements have been surfaced, which needs to probe by NAB, Anti-corruption and others.
This scribe when contacted Director Sindh TEVTA Ghulam Sarwer Joyo for his version, he didn’t attend call or version to this scribe, but threatened by the colleagues, as received messages here with.
STEVTA to improve techniques and methodology by utilizing the infrastructure and equipments through technical and vocational trainings as well as skilled hundred and thousands of youth, but unfortunately it proved negligence during ADP 2015-16 budget and early budgets were not properly utilized accordingly.
It is also learnt that July to September 2015, the budget shows zero utilization and the next quarter depicts utilization of all budgets in a quarter said the Finance Department quarterly budget report.
STEVTA Regional Directors in Sindh and other staff was continuously enjoying their posting from various other departments violating the Supreme Court orders, even Daily Times reported.
The STEVTA Directors Syed Ghulam Sarwar Joyo and Syed Nazar Mohammed Shah and other authorities have not attended calls but pressed the media men by issuing threats after appearing their heavy corruption and mismanagement in the public exchequer that budget utilized since the releases for constructions and development of 34 institutes and other projects in province.
According to the budget utilization for reconstruction and renovation of government buildings a heavy corruption have been observed in new buildings development of VTC at Thatta, GVI at Sukkur, Larkana, GMI at Sehwan sharif, GMI Mirpur Bhatoro and other locations.
The authorities concerned did not attend their calls and messages response in spite of this issued threats to media men.
It is learnt that the STEVTA authorities were busy in minting mines since long but the authorities are silent over it. The Anti-corruption, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) should take a notice and properly investigate funds utilization since the releases civil society demanded.
Whereas, Karachi Union of Journalist (KUJ) and other Journalists’ bodies in province have demanded immediate actions against the culprits’ threats of written messages to the senior reporter and asked the Chief Minister to remove officials immediately and conduct impartial enquiry in this regard.
