ISLAMABAD: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Sirajul Haq Sunday said the people of Palestine laid down their lives for upholding the religion of Islam and regretted the ‘graveyard-like silence’ in the Muslim world over the issue of Gaza.
“Fire sparked by explosives rages in Gaza, destroying localities of innocent people,” Sirajul Haq noted and lamented the silence of Muslim world despite having a collective army of seven million.
He called upon the leadership of Muslim world to join hands and preserve their honor over the barbarism being unleashed on the innocent people of Gaza.
The JI Ameer said he had appealed the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to convene a meeting over the issue of Gaza.
He said he also written a letter to the Muslim leaders across the world including Saudi King Shah Abdullah.
Sirajul Haq lauded Saeeda Warsi for her resignation from the UK government over its policy on Gaza.
