Sindh Minister for local Govt called on meeting to make Sukkur city a beautiful and clean

SUKKUR: Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that the width of roads of Sukkur city will be increased, the procedure of provision of drinking water and drainage system will also be improved. This was stated by him while speaking to the meeting organized at Deputy Commissioner Office Sukkur in connection to beautification plan of the city and resolving peoples’ problems. A number of social, religious people including business community, political workers, lawyers and civil society representatives participated in this meeting and presented their suggestions regarding solution of the problems. They suggested that a new sewerage line should be furnished, roads should be made encroached free and improvements into the cleanliness practice should also be brought. The participants of the meeting further suggested that condition of historical Lansdowne bridge has become worsened, so, it is needed early repair and beautification work, the steps should be taken to meet the shortage of drinking water in different localities of the city including New Pind and to take steps for the construction of new parks including the repair work of the old ones, as more pleasant atmosphere would created in the city with green environment.
They added that there is a dire need to establish a university in Sukkur and all contracts should be given to contractors on merit basis. They also suggested that shifting of cattle colony, dainter & painter colony and iron market out of the city be also ensured. On this occasion, Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah ensured that no leave would be left unturned to solve the city problems and all steps would be taken for the beautification of the city. He further said that for the development and beautification of Sukkur city it has been asked to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for the approval of a grant for a special package, and soon, it would be approved by the Sindh Government, and hopefully after that, Sukkur would become as Paris. Deputy Commissioner Sukkur Shahzad Fazal Abbasi, Kumail Hyder Shah, Qurban Malano, Ubedullah Bhutto and other political, social and representatives of business community were also present on this occasion.
