KARACHI: In an overnight decision, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah withdrew portfolio of local government from Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, just a day before commencement of municipal elections’ second phase in the province, Samaa reported.
According to our correspondent, Shah lost the ministry as a result of his dispute with veteran PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah over district chairman’s seat.
“Both Sukkur-based PPP leaders had lock horns over seat of Sukkur district chairman they were demanding for their sons,” a source told Samaa.
He said Chief Minister took notice of their row and resultantly withdrew Shah’s portfolio overnight through a hastily issued notification that was not bearing even CM’s signature.
Shah was made Local Government minister in July this year.
The development came a day before second phase of municipal elections scheduled to be held on Nov 19 in 15 districts of Sindh.
