Sindh Assembly passes Sindh Arms (Amendment) Bill 2014

KARACHI: Sindh Assembly on Monday passed Sindh Arms (Amendment) Bill 2014, which among other will give the provincial government the authority to issue arm licenses valid across Pakistan.
The Sindh Arms (Amendment) Bill 2014 amend the Sindh Arms Act 2013 in a bid to purge the province of illegal arms.
On Monday, the house passed the bill unanimously, when Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani put the bill to vote in the provincial legislature.
During the session, the members of Sindh Assembly discussed the harassment faced by workers of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) in the session on Monday.
Nadir Magsi of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) said that the Sindhi and Baloch employees of KWSB are being targeted and he requested the leadership of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to take the matter seriously.
