KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly on Thursday approved a resolution against the division of the province. The resolution was tabled by PPP lawmakers.
The resolution states that Sindh is one province and will continue to remain so. The province is the second largest in Pakistan and has its own identity. According to the resolution a two-thirds majority is required in the national and provincial assemblies for the formation of new provinces.
Earlier, opposition members (PML-F, PML-N) protested and staged a walkout over the issue of allocation of seats in the new provincial assembly. The session had already been boycotted by the MQM over arrest of party workers.
