Several KMC employees getting salaries while sitting at home: DG FIA Sindh

KARACHI: Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency Sindh, Shahid Hayat said that there were several ghost employees appointed in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, who were getting salaries while sitting at home.
This he said while addressing a press conference here on Saturday. The DG FIA Sindh said that nine ghost employees of the KMC have been arrested, while a senior official of KMC was also found involved in embezzlement of funds.
The DG FIA presented an employee of the KMC, Saleem Khan, who confessed that 21 members of his family are receiving salaries from KMC including his 64-year old mother-in-law.
While replying to a question regarding BBC report about MQM, Shahid Hayat said that the government is investigating the matter as all the names mentioned in the report are outside Pakistan.
He said that FIA has presented an interim charge sheet against Axact in the court. He maintained that the court should order to reopen Axact, if the FIA has not followed the standard legal procedure in the case.
