Senators visited CHQ, briefed over Indian aggression at LOC

SIALKOT: Members of Senate’s Standing Committee for Defence visited Chenab Rangers headquarters where the lawmakers were briefed over security situation at the Sialkot working boundary and Line of Control, online Indus News reported Wednesday.

Reports said the two-member body, comprising its chairman Mushahid Hussain Syed and Mohsin Leghari, were given a two-hour off-camera briefing by DG Rangers Punjab Maj. Gen. Khan Tahir Javed about Indian aggression.

The Rangers chief briefed the senators that India has broken all previous records of the shelling at the LoC, firing more than 31500 mortar shells, more than that of fired in 1971 war between the two countries.

Meanwhile, speaking to Samaa correspondent, Mushahid Hussain Syed said that the issue would be pursued in the Senate.
