RAWALPINDI: The Pakistani military said a sixth gunman had been killed at a school attacked by the militants on Tuesday, and that operations were “closing up”.
“6th terrorist killed in last block,” Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa tweeted.
“IEDs (bombs) planted by terrorists hamper speed of clearance.” “Closing up,” he tweeted.The combat operation is over, the security personnel are carrying out clearance operation and hopefully they will clear the building in a while,” police official Abdullah Khan told AFP.
“Dead bodies of six terrorists have been found in the building.”
Senior police official Shafqat Malik confirmed the combat phase of the response was over.
The Taliban said they sent six gunmen wearing suicide vests into the building.
