ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday restored Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Qaiser Jamal as Member of the National Assembly (MNA) on NA-47.
A two member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani heard the case pertaining to the ineligibility of the PTI candidate.
The Supreme Court declared the decision by the election tribunal illegal and restored the PTI leader as an MNA for NA-47. The election tribunal had declared Qaiser Jamal’s victory on NA-47 void and ordered fresh elections.
The apex court has issued notices to parties and adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks.
