BADIN: The political parties have begun their movement against the creation of new division Bhambhore at Makli. The large number of the people of various political, social and trader’s organizations took rally and staged demonstration in Golarchi town on Saturday to register their protest against the creation of new division Bhambhore at Makli.
The protesters staged sit-in on Badin- Karachi highway at Shaheed Fazil Rahu Chowk for three hours, which resulted in the suspension of traffic flow. Mr. Mohammad Ismail Rahu, the leader of PML- N and the convener of Save the Badin Action Committee addressing the protesting people claimed that the decision by Sindh government was against the wishes of people of Badin “the decision was made in drawing rooms without taking the common people into confidence” he added. Mr. Rahu said that they were not against the creation of new administrative units but against the ill-intentions of Sindh government.
He said protest demonstrations would be held in all Tehsil headquarters of Badin district as per schedule. Mr. Rahu reiterated that people of more than 20 political and social parties together with the support of the people would never allow rulers of Sindh to hand over big cities to their coalition partners as a gift. He invited the elected members of PPP from Badin to join their protest, as according to him, their struggle was in favor of the people not for scoring political points.
Syed Sikander Ali Shah, president of PML-F Badin district, said that creation of new division instead of giving any benefit would create troubles for the people. Mr. Shah asked the functionaries of Sindh government to review their decision. Taj Mohammad Mallah, the known leader of traders’ association in his speech outright rejected the decision and said that Hyderabad had always been the economic hub of central Sindh adding he made it clear that people had great stake in Hyderabad. Mr Shahnawaz Sial of Sindh Tarki Pasand Party said that creation of new division was the great conspiracy against the Sindh its people. Mr. Jakhro Nohani of Qaumi Awami Tehrik said that new decision comprising on 9 Talukas of the coastal belt of Thatta, Sajawal and Badin districts was a step towards building of the controversial Zulfiqar abad project.
Mohammad Ismail Pathan of Sindh United Party said that PPP government was punishing people of Badin district by making controversial decisions amid at dividing Sindh into many parts. Syed Ali Hyder Shah of JSQM Amir Hassan Arisar of JSQM (Arisar Group) Mohammad Siddique Baran of PTI and others spoke on the occasion and demanded Sindh government to review its decision
