KARACHI: Ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Sunday decided to support Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in April 23 by-elections on Karachi’s NA-246 constituency.
The decision was announced by PML-N’s Mohammad Ismail Rahu and chief of JI Karachi, Hafiz Naeem-Ur-Rehman, at a joint press conference.
The JI and Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) have refused to withdraw their candidates to support each other in the fray for the National Assembly seat.
Meanwhile, Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) on Sunday decided to support Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) candidate Imran Ismail in April 23 by-elections on Karachi’s NA-246 constituency.
According to reports, the decision would be formally announced at a press conference today in the evening. The decision came on the day when PTI was showing political power in the city with a public gathering at Shahrah-e-Pakistan, a day after MQM’s show in Liaqatabad.
