Rs 1 billion development work of SMBBMU varsity at Arija Airport road in progress

LARKANA: Vice Chancellor Shaheed Muhtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Larkana Ghulam Asghar Channa has said that construction work of university with cost of Rs 1 billion at Arija Airport road is in progress, which will be completed by next year, it was dream and vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto to upgrade the Chandka Medical College into University, he expressed these views while talking this scribe at his office.

Vice Chancellor told that prime objective of University is to conduct the research for the diseases and provide the undergraduate and postgraduate medical and dental education international standards to people of upper Sindh, he said.

VC Ghulam Asghar Channa regretted prevailing conditions of SMBBMU and said that former Vice Chancellors lost times to lead the success and its development, added that Benazir Institute of Nursing and Community Health Science and Bibi Aseefa Dental Colleges were established in haste without fulfilling basic needs, resulted both are yet register with Pakistan Nursing Council and PMDC.

To question about the withdrawal of evening classes at Chandka Medical College Larkana, Vice Chancellor SMBBMU replied that it was misinterpreted the rules of HEC and universities, there is no any provision for the any evening classes, and however candidates have been compensated, he said.

He told that A team of Council of Physician and Surgeons Pakistan and PMDC teams visited the SMBBMU in 2011and found deficiency in several departments and improper facilities among Orthopedic and Cardiology according to standard of HE.

Replying an other question regarding non presentation of annual budget of SMBBMU since 2012, Vice Chancellor said that budget always approved by Senate and presented annually, it was responsibility on former VCs but they did nothing.

He said that he will sow the seeds for university’s development into the broader international Institution of distinction and integrity, dedicated to respond to the problems and seeking to venture into the new academic disciplines and bring forth graduates of intellectual breadth to meet the challenges of change.

Vice Chancellor told that teaching faculty is insufficient, posts of 90 to 100 Professors, Associate Professors and others are vacant in SMBBMU, causing severe academic problems, however we have chalked out the plan to restore the academic environment, infrastructure improvement and make SMBBMU a modern university of World.

LARKANA: Renowned Child Specialist Doctor Bhagvandass resident of Larkana city along with his wife Dr Bhagvant devi held press conference against the fake power of attorney prepared by Moti Ram claiming 48 acre land and occupation on his property worth of 2 billion.

He said that a man of Hindu community namely Moti Ram son of Sadoro Mal resident of Karma Bagh Larkana with collusion of concerned officials have made forgery in revenue record by fake power of attorney and transferred 48 acre land on his name and sold out to Lal Bux Mangerio resident of Dokri on 10 May 2003 and registered sell deeds with Sub Registrar office illegally, he said.

Dr Baghvandass apprised that 55.30 care land having 14 survey numbers including 55/1, 55/1, 56/1, 94/1,95/2,96,59/1,84/2 and others situated at deh Nabi Bux form air port road which is  legal property of his wife and him, despite of that Land grabbers used  Moti Ram to occupy the property of 2 billions.

He said that he has lodged FIR against Moti Ram and others at Market Police Station on 16 June 2014, but Police have yet not arrested the involved accused and reluctant to conduct the investigation of fraud case.

Dr Bhagvandass and Dr Bhagvant Devi have appealed to Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, IG Sindh Police, DIG, Commissioner Larkana and other high ups to take notice of matter and conduct impartial inquiry against the forgery, fraud case and remove illegal occupation on his land, otherwise he will continue his struggle for justice.

LARKANA: Vaccinators continued their protest and boycott of their duties of  national program at 44 EPI centers in Larkana district against District Health Officer and Deputy District Health Officer health Larkana  allegedly misappropriation in Measles funds

Central President Vaccinator Welfare Association Sindh Qadir Bux Pirzado, Central Leader Syed Athar Shah, Chairman Abdul Majeed Matilo, President Deedar Ali Brohi, Pervaiz Ali Shahani and others  led the protest and presided over the meeting at old DHO office against the anti employee policy.

Talking to media men They alleged that DHO office Larkana received Rs 9.4 millions for Measles last month for celebrating the 10 days anti Measles campaign from 19 May to 30 May 2014, all funds were misappropriated by concerned officials, but no amount could use for mass public awareness activities.

They said that on the central call given by Vaccination Welfare Association Sindh, 100 Vaccinators out of 118 have boycotted their duties and locked the  44 EPI Centers, adding that poor vaccinators are performing their national services for EPI program to protect the children from 9 fatal diseases among Polio, Measles, TB, Diphtheria, Hepatitis, Meningitis and others.

They said that concerned authorities of Health department are trying to make groups in organization of vaccinators to divert the attention from the Rs 9.4 million funds for Measles.

They demanded of Chief Minister Sindh, MNA Faryal Talpur, Provincial Health Minister and other high ups to take notice of matter and resolve the issue of Vaccinators, other wise they will continue their protest and boycott of their duties.
