PESHAWAR: The Kabul river was reported to be in medium flood at Warsak and Nowshera and the Indus river at Khairabad Monday morning.
A spokesman of the Irrigation Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa told newsmen that the Kabul was flowing in medium flood with discharge of 57805 cusecs water at Warsak and 111300 cusecs at Nowshera. Similarly, the Indus was also in medium flood at Khairabad with discharge 441700 cusecs and its inflow in the Tarbella reservoir was 355000 cusecs and outflow 315500 cusecs.
Medium flood was also recorded in the Adezai river at Adezai bridge, where 54991 cusecs water was discharged. The Punjkora river at Dir with 17281 cusecs, Swat at Khawazakhela with 8542 cusecs and Kayali at Charsadda were flowing in normal to low level.
The spokesman urged the people in low laying areas of the Kabul river to remain vigilant and contact the offices of deputy commissioners, Provincial Disaster Management Authority and Met Department for getting accurate information regarding flood.
