Resolution against Modi’s statement submitted in Punjab Assembly

LAHORE: Opposition Leader Mehmoodur Rasheed submitted a resolution against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement acknowledging his country’s interference in the 1971 war.

The resolution calls on the government to immediately call an All Parties Conference (APC) and announce its course of action in light of Modi’s statement.

Earlier on Wednesday, Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz demanded the international community and United Nations take notice of Modi’s statement.

Aziz addressing the Senate said such statements raised doubts over India’s sincerity to establish good relations with Pakistan.
