ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a decrease in power tariffs for consumers across Pakistan with the exception of K-Electric consumers in Karachi.
The power regulator on Tuesday announced an 82 paisa reduction in tariff per unit after reviewing the Power Purchasing Agency’s request.
Production
NEPRA sources add, that during the month of May, eight billion units of electricity were produced, out of which 34.5 percent was generated from hydropower projects, 36.58 percent from furnace oil, while 22.45 percent was generator from Gas.
Tariff Fluctuations
Earlier in March the power regulator had increased the per unit price by Rs.2.24 which was applicable on all providers excluding KElectric (previously KESC).
