Reduction in POL price: CM urges transport dept to fix transport fares afresh

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed provincial Transport Department to ensure trickle down the benefits of reduction in prices of petroleum products. “I want you to ensure reduction in transport fares,” he urged the secretary Transport department.
The chief minister issuing directives to the Transport Department said that the federal government has further reduced the prices of POL considerably. “Therefore, the transport fares must be reduced accordingly,” Syed Qaim Ali Shah said.
The Chief Minister directed the transport department to convene an urgent meeting of transporters to discuss new POL prices and then fix the transport fares afresh. “You must take transporters into confidence while taking the decision of revising the transport fares,” he said.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that with the reduction of POL prices not only transport fares would come down but over all prices of commodities would come down. “The entire district government machinery would be activated to implement the decision of passing the benefits of reduced POL prices to the masses,” he categorically said.
