Recent wave of flood inundate villages in lower districts

Hundreds of villages have submerged and cut off from the cities after the flood water has entered in the katha areas of Guddu, Kashmore, Ghotki, Sukkur, and Khairpur. Recent heavy rains has triggered the rise of water level in Indus River at Guddu and Sukkur Barrage. Irrigation department officials confirmed that medium level flood has entered in Guddu Barrage and low level at Sukkur Barrage.
The water level at Guddu Barrage was recorded as 353071 cusec upstream, 325041 cusec down stream, Sukkur Barrage was recorded as 283200 cusec upstream, 227500 cusec downstream and 78792 cusec upstream at Kotri Barrage. Sources further confirmed that approximately 500000 cusec water will pass through Guddu Barrage on 24-25 July.
Army has started patrolling at sensitive dykes of Ghotki, while the inhabitants of the katcha areas from Ghotki, Kashmore, Guddu, Sukkur and Khairpur have started to shift their family on safe places. Several villages including Gul Hassan Solangi, Ali Nawaz Solangi, Murad Chachar, Rahib Mazari, Qadir Solangi, Ali Gul Shar, Allah Wadhayo Sundrani Faiz Bindo, KT Pagaro, KT Juneja and other villages become under water. Meanwhile, 3 youth were died while they were taking bath near Sukkur Barrage at Zero Point, the dead were identified as Usama 15-years, Ahmer 20-years, and Shahzaib.
