KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Friday said that the evidence against Dr Asim Hussain were not enough for his arrest, adding that the PPP leader would be released with dignity very soon.
Talking to newsmen, the chief minister said that he was not aware about the arrest of Dr Asim, adding that he talked to the Corps Commander and DG Rangers, who said that they had evidence against Dr Asim.
“I told them that at least they should have informed him before arrest of Dr Asim,” he added. He said that DG Rangers met him and showed some evidence against Dr Asim. “I told DG Rangers that these evidence were not enough for arrest of Dr Asim ”, he said.
“I am elected representative of Sindh and responsible for the protection of the lives and properties of the people of Sindh”, he added. He said that the party leadership held him responsible for the arrest of respected Dr Asim, who is the chairman of the HEC Sindh. He said that he had asked the prime minister about assault on Sindh, adding that the FIA would leave the Sindh within two days.
