Punjab presents Rs 1447.24 bln balanced budget

LAHORE: Provincial Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Ghous Pasha presented a balanced budget of Rs 1447.24 billion with Annual Development Programme (ADP) of Rs 400 billion for fiscal year 2015-16 during Punjab Assembly session on Friday.
She elaborated that total estimates of revenue collection stood at Rs 1447.24 billion, while the expenditure figure would also be same during the financial year 2015-16.
The Punjab Finance Minister said that out the total Rs 1447.24 billion estimated revenues during FY-2015-16, a grant of Rs 888.50 billion provincial share would be received from Federal Divisible Pool under National Finance Commission (NFC) Award formula. Besides, the federal government is expected to provide Rs 41.04 billion under the head of Straight Transfers, she added.
Dr. Ayesha Ghous Pasha said that Provincial Revenues are estimated at Rs 256.07 billion during the FY-2015-16, out of which a sum of Rs 160.59 billion under the head of Taxes and Rs 95.47 billion under
the head of Non-Taxes would be collected.
