ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Tuesday alleged the Punjab police was always put to unscrupulous and illegal tasks and that ‘they had also played a key role in the election rigging’.
“On every occasion the rulers use the police for personal interests,” Imran Khan maintained while talking to media men along with his party leaders here.
He said he was shocked at the torture of Tehreek-e-Minajul Quran’s workers in Lahore and that PTI will be consulting other parties with an aim to form its strategy on the incident.
On the failure of talks process between the government and Taliban, Imran Khan said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should have led the negotiations himself.
He went on to say that Nawaz Sharif’s leadership was nowhere to be seen for evolving a national consensus over the military operation in North Waziristan and that ‘Nawaz Sharif never seemed to value the democracy’.
