Punjab Apex committee decides to seek Rangers help against terrorism

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over a meeting of the provincial apex committee. Corps Commander Lahore General Sadiq and other officials were part present in the meeting.
The meeting was briefed about the identification of terrorist network and arrest of facilitator of Lahore blast. The apex committee expressed grave concern over the involvement of Afghanistan based terrorist network in Mall Road suicide blast.
The meeting decided to seek paramilitary Rangers assistance in anti-terrorism operations. It has been decided in the meeting that the scope of operation against terrorists in Punjab will be expanded with the help of intelligence agencies.
