Protest: Tail-end paddy growers suffering acute artificial scarcity of water

Tail-end growers and farming community suffering acute irri-water shortage, samplings of paddy turned dry due to water scarcity, paddy growers heavily suffering in the hands of irrigation official artificial shortage of water.
A large number of residents of different villagers of Union Council Khabar Taluka Miro Khan district Kamber Shahdadkot continued their protest and demonstration during scorching heat in front of Executive Engineer irrigation Department Warah Division at Larkana against water theft and damaging of Shori Shaikh at RD 52 by influential person here on Tuesday.
They told media men that 70 to 80 armed men on behest of influential person attacked on Shori Shakh Regulator at RD 52 and badly damaged the infrastructure of irrigation, but despite of that concerned officials are reluctant to take action against the accused.
Villagers said that samplings of Paddy are under the drought, there is acute shortage of irrigational water, added that thousands acre fertile land of tale end farming community have turned into the barren due to scarcity of water, influential persons are diverting the flow of water to their areas to cultivate their lands and such trend of water theft has made lives of poor growers miserable.
They appealed to Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, provincial minister for irrigation and other high ups to take notice of matter, arrest influential person who are involved in water theft and ensure the supply of irrigation water in time for cultivation paddy crop.

A woman committed suicide due over domestic issues

A woman committed suicide due to domestic problem here at village Khair Muhammad Arija near Larkana on Tuesday.
18 year old Nazia daughter of Mir Muhammad Arijo consumed the poisonous substance at her home, resulting she fell unconscious and rushed to CMC Hospital emergency ward Larkana where she breathed last, the dead body was handed over to heirs after the medico legal formalities.

SSGC employees observes strike for nonpayment of their salaries for 6 months

LARKANA:
A large number of daily wages employees of Sui Sothern Gas Company SSGC Larkana region on protest call given by contracted employees action committee boycotted of their duties and staged sit in outside the Shaikh Zaid Chok against the non provision of 6 month salaries and for regularization of their services.
President Contracted Employees Action Committee (CEAC) Syed Shafqat Ali Shah led the protest and called for the resolution of their genuine issue.
On the occasion protesting employees were holding the banners and placards inscribed with slogans in favor of their demands and shouted the slogans for early releasing of withheld salaries.
Talking to media men Shafqat Ali Shah said that employees are deprived of 6 month salaries, despite of several requests and protests concerned authorities are reluctant to release the salaries and address the basic issues of poor workers, adding that 150 daily wages employees among Welder, Fitter, Helper, Driver and others have been rendering the services for past 20 years on only Rs 318 per day, whereas federal government has announced to provide minimum wages of Rs 12000 for laborers but despite of that concerned authorities are yet to follow the federal government orders.
Shafqat Ali Shah demanded of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan, Chairman SSGC to take notice of matter, resolve their issues by releasing 6 month salaries and regularize their services.
On the occasion Zulifqar Pahoor, Sonu Khan, Yar Muhammad Narejo, Aqib Khokhar and others participated in protest.
