Prof Ajmal swapped for three commanders: Taliban spokesman

PESHAWAR: Proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Thursday released a video of its 3 commanders, claiming that the three militants were freed under a prisoners swap deal in exchange for the release of Peshawar University Vice Chancellor Professor Ajmal Khan.

According to a statement issued here, TTP spokesman said that his organization had been trying to get the commanders released for last four years.

Professor Ajmal Khan was recovered on Aug 28 after remaining in Taliban captivity since September 7, 2010 when he had been kidnapped along with his driver at gunpoint from Professor Colony in University of Peshawar.
