LONDON: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on his United Kingdom 5-day official visit
hold discussions with his British counterpart on matters of mutual interest. He would also hold meetings with select UK cabinet ministers.
Nawaz Sharif would address an Investment Conference and would also meet select chief executives and investors from the financial and energy sectors.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch and PM’s Special Assistant on foreign affairs Tariq Fatimi will be accompanying the prime minister during the visit.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday that talks with the Taliban had been started with good intentions.
The prime minister spoke with the media as he arrived in the United Kingdom on a five-day official visit beginning April 30.
Prime Minister Sharif expressed hope that peace would be established in Pakistan and also praised the positive role being played by the media in the country. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif added he would not let Pakistan’s security be troubled.
During his official visit Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will hold discussions with his British counterpart David Cameron on matters of mutual interest while also meeting with select UK cabinet ministers.
