KARACHI: Surendar Valasai, Advisor on Minority Affairs to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Patron-In-Chief Pakistan Peoples Party has condemned the brutal killings of two young Hindu traders at the hands of armed dacoits in Umerkot city on Thursday and demanded Umerkot police to ferret out the culprits and prosecute them to logical justice.
In a press statement issued here, Surendar Valasai said PPP Patron-In-Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed concern over the yesterday incident and instructed Sindh government officials to take immediate action and ensure that culprits are brought to book.
According to reports, two brothers Ashok Kumar Malhi and Heeralal Malhi were waylaid by armed motorcyclists and pumped their chests with bullets when they resisted looting attempt. “Such growing incidents in relatively peaceful districts are alarming and Sindh Police needs to be vigilant and improve its investigations into the crimes being committed in Umerkot,” Surendar Valasai added.
He said though the initial reports suggest it was a dacoity bid but the authorities should thoroughly investigate the motive behind the cold-blood murders of minority youths.
