Police claims to arrest criminals and proclaimed absconders during raid in Larkana

LARKANA: Police claimed to have arrested 8 criminals and proclaimed absconders during the different raids and recovered the huge quantity of arms and ammunition from their possession here on Monday.

According to details on the directives of SSP Larkana Khalid Mustafa Korai, different Police Stations of Larkana district among Bakrani Police, Taluka Police, Dari Police, Market Police and others raided at different areas and arrested the accused Himat alias Irshad Ali Shaikh, Ali Waris Arijo, Ghuram alias Gharo Jeho, Kamran Abbas, Muhammad Panah Silero, Kashif Chandio and others and recovered the arms and ammunition from their custody,  in press statement issued by PRO to SSP said that arrested accused were involved in different criminal cases and some of them were proclaimed absconders, criminal elements will be dealt with stern action added that crack down operation will be continued against the criminal elements till the desired results.

While Police led by ASP city Tauqeer Ahmed raided at arms shops and sealed 11 shops on allegedly involved in selling illegal arms to citizens.

LARKANA: Renowned Intellectual and Writer Muhammad Ali Pathan protested against the unfair distribution of Novel Award announced by Sindh Language Authority ignoring the deserving candidates and he has appealed Chief Minister Sindh by letter and requesting him to issue the directives to Sindh Language Authority for withholding Award on Novel for 2013 to be conferred upon on 20th June 2014.

Muhammad Ali Pathan said in letter that one of Award is being given to such books which do not come under the criteria, adding that nominee of four writers among Rasool Memon, Mumtaz Bukhari, Muhammad Ali Pathan and Madam Tara Mir Chandani were made for Award, but concerned authorities ignored the merit and selected the old novel of Madam Tara Mir Chandani whose novel was reprinted in 2013, it already was published in 1990 and got three consecutive awards in India, now Sindh Language Authority has chosen it for award which is injustice.

He demanded of CM Sindh to take notice of matter and direct to concerned authority to follow the rules to adhere the merit and criteria.
