Police arrest 26 suspects, weapons seized in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Police along with Pakistan Rangers have nabbed 26 suspects during search operation in Noon, Sabzi Mandi and adjacent areas of Islamabad.
According to the details, police conducted operation at slum areas, inns, hotels, restaurants and Afghan habitats to ensure high vigilance and foolproof security during Muharram-ul-Haram.
Police along with contingents of Pakistan Rangers in wee hours of Sunday conducted search operation in the areas of Noon and Sabzi Mandi police stations where they screened houses, workshops, markets, under construction buildings and residential areas.
The teams succeeded to arrest 26 suspects who are being investigated further. During the search operation, two motorbikes, one 7mm gun, four 12 bore guns, one SMG, eight pistols of different bores, 573 bullets, two magazines and 458 gram narcotics was also recovered .
According to the police, the search operation would continue in coming days and complete combing would be made of sensitive areas.
