PM Nawaz meets Uzbek President to discuss bilateral relations

TASHKENT: The Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with Uzbek President Islam Karimov in Tashkent after arrival here on two-day official visit.
They discussed the entire gamut of bilateral relations and ways and means to further strengthen them in diverse fields. The two sides exchanged views on regional international issues of mutual interests.
As per details, PM Nawaz and Karimov signed several agreements of cooperation in various fields. PM Nawaz said that Uzbekistan has a critical role to play in the region while Uzbek President welcomed Pakistan’s policy of peace.
PM Nawaz arrived in Tashkent earlier today on a 2-day visit and met the Uzbek President Islam Karimov.
The two leaders signed various agreements of promoting bilateral trade. They also signed the protocol to avoid dual taxes.
In the joint conference, Nawaz Sharif said that both the countries enjoy multidimensional relations. He said that Uzbekistan has an important role in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Islam Karimov welcomed Pakistan’s policy of peace and said that Pakistan’s roadmap for regional trade is of high importance.
