ISLAMABAD: A report presented to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif claims 4,500 tons of relief goods have been distributed among the 527,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) from North Waziristan.
The report states that Rs 329.5 million has been distributed among the 27,664 families.
The prime minister issued directives that the relief amount be distributed to each affected family through mobile banking services starting from July 8th in a bid to speed up the process.
The report adds, that over 5,000 bags are being distributed among the affectees from 11 distribution points on a daily basis.
Regarding health facilities the report adds, that with the help of the World Health Organisation (WHO) the Pakistan Army is providing medical and health facilities including medicines, while electricity is being provided in the camps without any interruption.
The Pakistan Army has set up 33 relief camps across the country.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has contributed $20 million and $30 million for relief and succour of the evacuated persons.
