KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines on Wednesday sold 4 out of the 7 aircraft it had put up for a scrap auction. The 4 Boeing aircraft were sold for a paltry sum of Rs. 20 million.
Among the seven aircraft that were up for grabs, 4 were Boeing, one 747 and three 737’s while the remaining were Airbus A310s which failed to secure any acceptable bids. The successful bidder will be given custody of the aircraft upon furnishing 25% of the total amount.
Nine companies took part in the bidding process, including a private airline.
