The lack of a government hospitals in a large populated area of Gulshan Hadeed after closure of 100 bed Pakistan Steel Hospital, is a big question for the government.
Routine emergencies and accidents take place all over locations but no responsibility is accepted by the largest district administration of Malir Karachi.
There is a no hospital in area that looks after such accidents and emergencies or delivery cases and complex issues. We are talk about genuine problems and difficulties facing around, such facilities in this area are not available to the community.
Gulshan-e-Hadid is also one of the developed areas like other parts of Karachi, but after long, there is no such facilities are available. There is no such government hospital in the area around Gulshan-e-Hadid, which is a large area of about 3 km around and many villages population area and most of the middle class people and poor people living and business in such a large residential areas.
It is not a great science to provide basic health and education facilities to the communities as they are taxpayers, while after right next to Gulshan-e-Hadid is a modern built Steel Town where there is a Hundred Bed Hospital which was built by Pakistan Steel Mill, a government hostel and several other infrastructures, which are now closed due to the complete shutdown and closure of Pakistan Steel Mill.
The major accidents and emergencies in all these areas from Gaghar to Dhabeji around Bin Qasim Industrial hub to Quaid-e-Abad, experienced major accidents and other emergencies had dealt well in the Hundred Bed PSM Hospital but now stopped all.
If Gulshan-e-Hadid is located on the main national highway, then there is also the link road which connects the Karachi National Highway with the super highway now called M9 motorway and the condition of this link road is very bad. If it was on the National Highway, all the accidents that took place in the vicinity of Gulshan-e-Hadid and any other major issues have had been brought to the Hundred Bed Hospital. People would have been given proper treatment here and look after in past, No need to go to Jinnah Hospital and Aga Khan. Having a hundred beds here, it was a great blessing that was still there, but now closed because of which the people are now facing lot of difficulties.
After the closure of the such 100 bed facility, there are only private hospitals which are a mafia. Most of the hospitals do not deal with Major Cases and emergencies. They send direct to Jinnah hospital and Aga Khan far away. If it is emergency, it takes about an hour and if there is traffic jaam, it takes more time and the traffic is usually more due heavy trawlers, trucks, buses due to industrial pressure on busy road.
Many lives have been lost in Karachi city due to the heavy traffic carrying the injured and sick on the way. Will also go until the government reacts. Announcements have been made many times but unfortunately they have not been acted upon.
There are now private hospitals in and around Gulshan-e-Hadid where, in addition to accidents, the emergency cases are getting worse, the delivery cases sometimes the mothers lost lives, sometimes the news of the new born child, we hear it every day and also common treatments almost is not proper in the private hospitals in Hadid.
The government should resolve this issue as soon as possible. It is their responsibility that after Hundred Bed hospital closure, it is now government turn to give services since its demise as it happens. We have to go to the open of new hospitals immediately because of the long distance and because of the traffic and that is why many people see their loved ones lost their lives to the eternal world in front of them which is a very difficult time.
Steel Mills Destroyed During the last 5-10 years of the government, the steel mills incurred huge losses. Hundred beds hospital infrastructure will be destroyed, if federal or provincial governments should provide funds for a hundred beds immediately and run this state of the Art hospital again. If this will happen, then it will be much better for this area people and surroundings.
