Palestine president to inaugurate new embassy in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: President of State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas is to inaugurate the new premises of Palestine embassy in the Diplomatic Enclave, on January 31.

Palestine has recently built a new embassy in the diplomatic enclave, which shows close bonds of friendship between the two countries.

Pakistan has always been supportive of Palestinian just struggle for their won independent homeland.

Ambassador of Palestine Walid Abu Ali told DNA it would indeed be a historic moment in the relations of Palestine and Pakistan when Palestinian president will fly all the way to Islamabad to inaugurate the newly-built embassy.

The Ambassador further said, Palestine attaches great importance to its relation with Pakistan, which over the years have grown to great proportions.

Ambassador Walid further said, ever since the Palestinian occupation and its borders under Israel’s control, there is not much of trade between Pakistan and Palestine.

But since his arrival in Pakistan, he has been working to encourage Palestinian and Pakistani businessmen to try their best to generate opportunities for trading exports and imports through Pakistan.

He hoped theses relations will get a further boost after the visit of the President. “Pakistan is a great country and people are extremely hospitable. Their heart throbs with the people of Palestine”, he added.

It may be mentioned here that Ambassador Walid Abu Ali, ever since his posting in Pakistan, has greatly contributed to promotion of bilateral relations and it is because of his untiring efforts that high level dignitaries from Palestine have visited Pakistan.
