Pakistan’s sea, water routes generating new economic opportunities: president

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain says Pakistan’s sea and water routes are generating new economic opportunities not only for the country but the whole region.

He was addressing the passing out parade of cadets at Marine Academy in Karachi on Saturday.
The President said completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will enhance Pakistan’s stature among comity of nations.

He rejected the impression about change in western route of CPEC and said all segments of the society should play their role for successful implementation of the project. Appreciating the sacrifices of armed forces in the war on terror, the President said Pakistan’s efforts are bringing peace and stability to the region.

The president said that the purpose of establishing the Marine Academy was to protect the sea limits. “Countries in Central Asia are interested in benefiting from the CPEC. One can hope to get much more success in the future,” he said. He added that the nation was proud of sacrifices made by the armed forces against terrorism.

President Mamnoon Hussain said that peace is linked with prosperity and steps taken by Pakistan will pave the way for establishing peace in the region. He further said that Pakistan would destroy nefarious aims of enemies to destroy the country and destabilize the peace process.

The president said that Pakistani nation and forces gave great sacrifices for the country in the war on terror. He asked the nation to unite, saying that some forces are trying to divide the provinces in order to fail China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CEPC) project. He said changes on western route of CPEC are only rumors, asking nation not to pay attention negative propaganda.
