Pakistan wants talks with India without preconditions: Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD: Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and National Security, Sartaj Aziz on Saturday said that he was saddened that the Indo-Pak security adviser level talks had been jeopardized, adding that he is ‘still willing to visit New Delhi without preconditions’.
While addressing a press conference at the Foreign Office, Sartaj Aziz said that India had imposed new conditions on the security advisor level talks and added that Pakistan wants to hold talks with India but without the imposition of preconditions. He said that India cancelled talks with Pakistan, and we are still willing to hold talks, however, they must be held unconditional.
Responding to a question, he said that Pakistan wishes to resolve all issues with India on the negotiating table, but no serious talks with India are possible without discussion on the core issue of Kashmir.
It is worthwhile to mention here that talks between India and Pakistan, scheduled for August 23 and 24, jeopardized after Pakistan’s insistence to ignore Indian ‘advice’ against holding a meeting with Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders in New Delhi. India also rejected the Pakistani agenda for talks which included Kashmir issue.
