ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will participate in the World Judo Championship, to be held at Astana, Kazakhstan from August 20 to 31.
The Secretary General of Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF), Masood Ahmad said this is the mega event of the year for the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympic Brazil, says a press release issued here. He said that it has been decided that the Judo team for the Championship will be selected later consisting of 4 Male and 2 Female Athletes in accordance to available funds for the Championship and in the first week of the August the name of Judo team will be announced.
The Secretary said that for the upcoming international events the National Judo Training Camp will be resumed soon and Sajjad Kazemi, Foreign Judo Coach will join the Camp from August 1.
The President PJF, Col. Rana Shujaat Ali said that in very short span of time PJF touched peaks in Judo and if we got a little opportunity then the flag of Pakistan will be on top internationally.
