ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday said it will fully support peaceful presidential election and transfer of power in Afghanistan in a democratic way.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Ms Tasnim Aslam in her weekly briefing said that Pakistan will provide security on the Pak Afghan border during both the phases of Afghan presidential elections. She said Pakistan wants peacful completion of second phase of Afghan Presidential elections being held this week.
Replying to a question the spokesperson said that Pakistan has not changed its policy on drone strike. She however said facts are being collected about the latest drone strike reported on yesterday. Answering a question she said Pakistan wants to resume dialogue process with india.
She said investigation regarding use of foreign made weapons in the Karachi terrorist incident is underway and the government can t level any allegation against any country without proof. Foreign Office spokesperson said that comprehensive investigation of the incident is underway to determine the facts. Replying to a question about recovery of kidnapped Chinese worker she said the Punjab Government has constituted two teams for early and safe recovery of the kidnapped Chinese worker.
About imposing conditions on financial assistance from United States to Pakistan linking it with operation against terrorists in North Waziristan the spokesperson said that Pakistan is in touch with the American leadership on this issue.
