Pakistan middle order let the openers down

DUBAI: After a brilliant opening partnership of 126 between Ahmed Shehzad (61) and Sarfraz Ahmed (65), Pakistan were bundled out for 215 in 49.3 over.

Pakistan were poised for a huge total after the century opening stand but, not for the first time, the middle order showed signs of immaturity and inexperience.

None of the middle order batsmen could maintain the momentum set by the openers and Pakistan kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Mitchel Johnson was the most successful Aussie bowler who bowled with pace and hostility to claim 3-40 off his 10 overs.

Australia need 216 to only win this match but also to rap up the 3 match ODI series.
