Pakistan, India cooperation in region’s interest: Abdul Basit

NEW DELHI: Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi, Abdul Basit said Pakistan and India’s working together is in the interest of not only the region but the entire world.

Talking to media persons at India’s Hyderabad city, Abdul Basit said there are many issues of international level for which bilateral cooperation can be put to use. There is no reason why there should be no cooperation between the two countries, he added.

He said presently Pakistan and India are faced with multiple challenges and in today’s world these challenges assume greater significance compared to the border issues. These challenges include terrorism, organized world crime, climate change and human trafficking, he added.

The Pakistani Ambassador in New Delhi underscored the need for all the states of the region to work collectively to tackle these challenges.
