MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited the flood affected areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) pledging the governments support and announcing several new projects.
The prime visited the flood affected areas of Haveli in Azad Kashmir and announced that the Pakistani government would bear the cost of damages incurred.
Evaluating the extent of damages caused in the area, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced construction of a road from Haveli to Rawalakot and to build the Azad Jammu and Kashmir University in Haveli.
The prime minister said the people of Kashmir should not feel alone as Pakistanis would stand by them in this difficult time.
While taking to residents of Forward Kahuta, Prime Minister Sharif announced Rs 1 million in compensation for the families of those killed due to the floods. The prime minister also announced the construction of the Islamabad to Muzaffarabad train service and a hospital.
During his address the prime minister emphasized that there should be no hurdles placed in Pakistan’s path to progress and the country could not afford negative politics.
