United Nations—Pakistan was elected to two United Nations’ panels on Thursday in recognition of the country’s contribution to the work of the world body, officials said. The panels are: the Commission on Science and Technology for Development and the Committee on Non-Governmental Organisations. Pakistan will serve both panels for four-year terms beginning on 1 January 2015 and expiring on 31 December 2018.
