ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Pakistan believed in peace but knows how to respond to any aggression.
Talking to newsmen, he said that we wanted peace but would inflict heavy losses on India if war hysteria overcame its leadership. Commenting on Indian Army Chief’s statement that his forces should be
ready for a short war, he said that Pakistan was fully prepared to give a befitting response if India imposed short or prolonged war.
The Defence Minister pointed out that Pakistan Armed Forces foiled designs of Indian forces in 1965 and now they were more experienced and professional. He said that our forces were engaged in the war against terror for several years and they knew how to respond to any challenge.
Khawaja Asif said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif believed in peace but when it came to survival of the country we would not hesitate in offering any sacrifice.
