Pakistan beat New Zealand by three wickets

DUBAI: Pakistan recorded a thrilling three-wicket win over New Zealand in the first One-day International here at the Dubai Cricket Stadium on Monday.

The architects of the sensational victory were young Haris Sohail and veteran allrounder Shahid Afridi who made 110 runs for the seventh wicket partnership after Pakistan lost six wickets for only 124 runs.

Haris, who hit the winning boundary, was unbeaten on 85 with while Afridi was run out for 61.

Chasing 247, Pakistan achieved the target with three balls to spare, scoring 250 for seven.
