Pakistan Army fighting war against hidden enemy: PM

MIRANSHAH: Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif said Thursday the Pakistan Army was fighting a war against a enemy which was hidden and carrying out attacks.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif paid tributes to soldiers and officers fighting a difficult war to secure Pakistan’s future and make the country safe and secure. The prime minister praised Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, saying the war was being fought successfully under his leadership.

The Prime Minister also paid rich tributes to all those who laid down their lives for their country and said the supreme sacrifice of officers and jawans has made Pakistan secure. He prayed to Allah Almighty to shower his blessings on the martyrs.

He congratulated the families of all those whose were fighting this war for Pakistan’s long term security needs. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also lauded General Raheel Sharif for successfully leading the war that was aimed at securing Pakistan’s peaceful and prosperous future.

The Prime Minister concluded the ceremony by raising the slogan of Long Live Pakistan Army and Pakistan.

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif received the prime minister upon his arrival in Miranshah.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Prime Minister was briefed about the operation Zarb-e-Azb during which he was told that 90% of the area has been secured by the military. The prime minister was also shown weapons and explosives recovered from terrorists.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mehtab Abbassi also accompanied the premier.

It may be mentioned that the visit was of historic importance as Nawaz Sharif is the first ever premier to visit Miranshah.
