Pak Army clinches National Paralympics Games trophy

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Army clinched the trophy after securing 217 points Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab with 199 points and 174 runs got second and third position respectively in the National Paralympics Games that concluded here at Qayyum Sports Complex on Saturday.
Minister for Education Atif Khan Sports Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amjad Afridi graced the occasion as chief guest.
Adiver to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Mahar Taj Rogahni Chairman PTI Sports and Culture Forum Rafaqat Ullah Babar Chairman Tabaco Board Azmat Hanif Orakzai Secretary Organizing Committee Kifayat Ullah and Peshawar Uplift Program Coordinator Salahuddin and large number of spectators were also present.
There were many categories comprising INCL Blinds Polio Brain Disorder Spinal Injuries and Lamb Amputations while participating in just one category like Limb Amputation Pakistan Army won eight gold medals, 12 silver and 12 bronze medals by winning the general trophy.
The War heroes who once fought for the integrity and solidarity of the mother lands were in jubilation mood when they got their gold silver and bronze medals.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won five gold medal 11 silver medal and eight bronze medals while Punjab claimed four gold medal 11 silver and 8 bronze medals.
Islamabad won four gold medals four silver and three bronze medals by scoring 79 points and got fourth position.
Around 300 athletes from Punjab Sindh, Balochistan, FATA, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, FATA Islamabad and host Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took part in the Paralympics Games in cricket, badminton, table tennis, athletics, lawn tennis and archery.
At the end the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prizes. He also lauded the efforts of the organizing committee for holding the Games.
