Over 70 cabins demolished in DMC Korangi’s anti-encroachment drive

KARACHI: The DMC- Korangi in anti encroachment operation on Tuesday demolished more than 70 cabins and confiscated sizable number of push carts as well as vehicles illegally parked on different thoroughfares in the district.
Administrator, DMC – Korangi, Quratul Ain Memon, while sharing details of the exercise, expressed her gratitude to the Rangers and Police fortheir support providing much needed relief to the citizens, faced with grave inconvenience due to encroachment. She said that the administration does not want to disturb means of earning livelihood of any one but that should not be done at the expense of others, causing difficulties to people in general.
The DMC – Korangi administrator said during the joint operation all two-way roads, pavements as well as service lanes were cleared off of all unauthorized structures as well as movable property.
Memon said that illegal extension by commercial and residential buildings in the areas was also demolished during the operation. The encroachers were warned that action would be taken again and more forcefully in case they were found to indulge in violation of the law.
Action against encroacher and their property in DMC Korangi was jointly supervised Deputy Director (M.R), Rehan Khan, Assistant Commissioner, Wali Muhammad Baloch and D.S.R Mumtaz of Bhittai wing Rangers.
