LARKANA: Youth Affairs Department Government of Sindh in collaboration with Pakistan Arts Council Larkana organized one day Workshop on “Youth Health Awareness Program” (YHAP) here at local hotel on Saturday.
50 male female students of different educational institutions among government Degree College, SZABIST, Global Science College, The Educators and others participated in workshop and exchanged their ideas regarding the youth issues.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Ameer Ali Abro threw light on various health-related problems such as sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), AIDS, Hepatitis besides training them on ways and means to cope with stress and depression.
He said that youth is asset of country and play key role in development and progress of country adding that government should device comprehensive policies for development of youth and provision of skill development and capacity building trainings on national and international level.
Deputy Secretary Youth Affairs Saleem Sidiqi in his speech, also underscored the significance of creative and critical thinking for the youth to make progress in today’s world where the only way to accomplish big goals is to compete their way through tough competition.
He told that training workshop aimed at to stimulate the students to get health related information and sensitize them about the general, mental and reproductive health problems and preventative measures with view to promote the healthy living practices among them.
Renowned psychiatrist Dr Nasreen, Dr Lala Jaffar Hussain, Dr Waqar and others spoke on the occasion.
Later shields and certificates were distributed among the youth.
TWO COUSINS KILLED WHILE ANOTHER INJURED IN ROAD ACCIDENT
SHIKARPUR: Two motorcyclist cousins were killed while another their friend received severe injuries due to collision of troller and motorbike at Shikarpur-Sukkur National highway near Lakhi Ghulam Shah bus stop in the jurisdiction of Lakhi Ghulam Shah Police Station approximately 20 kilometers from here on Saturday noon.
As a result of accident two motorcyclist cousins identified as twenty eight years old Aamir Ali Sheikh son of Asghar Ali and sixteen years old Subhan Ali Sheikh were killed on the spot while another their friend identified as Aamir Ali Malik received severe injuries who were residential of Hathi Gate Shikarpur they were going towards Sukkur from Shikarpur they were collided a speedy troller that was coming from opposite direction.
Area Police Officials (APOs) rushed on the spot, handed over the dead bodies of the deceased to their heirs after conducting post-mortem examination from Taluka Headquarter (THQ) Hospital Lakhi Ghulam Shah and injured youth admitted in Taluka Headquarter (THQ) Hospital Lakhi Ghulam Shah for medical treatment after providing him first aid who was referred to District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital Shikarpur for further medical assistance.
Area Police Officials (APOs) apprehended troller driver and troller have taken their custody.
Source said, injured youth is reported out of danger. Troller driver identified as Badshah Khan and troller No is “TLT-517”, police said. FIR was not registered till this story was filed.
DEAD BODY FOUND
SHIKARPUR: Shikarpur District Police have found unidentified dead body of thirty five years old man from Haji Latif Shah Graveyard in the jurisdiction of Lakhi Gate Police Station on Friday late night.
Area Police Officials (APOs) shifted the dead body of unidentified man to the District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital mortuary.
Identification of dead body could not be ascertained till this story was filed.
CM constitutes 3-member Task force to probe
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has constituted a three- member Task Force to examine the report given by Rangers about generation of terrorism financing through unlawful means with the directives to submit their report with four weeks.
According to the notification issued Chief Secretary the The Task Force comprises Mr Justice (Retd) Ghulam Sarwar Korai (chairman), Mr Arjun Ram K. Talreja, retired District & Session Judge and Home Secretary Mukhtiar Hussain Soomro as members.
It may be noted that in the Apex Committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on June 4, the Rangers had given a detailed presentation that terrorists financing was being made through bhatta collection, land mafia, China cutting, Iranian oil smuggling etc.
The Chief Minister, keeping in view the information given in the presentation, has constituted a 3- member task force to examine the report.
The Terms of Reference (ToR) of the Task Force shall be as follows:
1- ” To examine report by Pakistan Rangers, Sindh and evidences about various modes of terrorism financing.
2- In the light of findings fix responsibility.
3 – To recommend pre-emptive, preventive and cognitive measures to Government of Sindh to curb any such unlawful practices.”
The committee/ Taskforce shall submit its report within a period of four weeks to the government.
