ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Foreign Office Thursday said that there is no organized presence of banned Daesh in the country, media reported.
According to media reports, when asked to comment on Intelligence Bureau chief’s warning of Daesh’s emerging threat, the newly appointed FO spokesman Nafeez Zakaria said: “Let me reiterate that there is no organized presence of Daesh in Pakistan. I have seen the reports you are referring to and I would request you to approach Ministry of Interior for further details.”
In a weekly press briefing, he said Pakistan is consistently and constantly supporting all regional efforts against terrorism and extremism.
In this context, He added that Islamabad has welcomed the 34-nation coalition against terrorism.
He said its details and modalities are being worked out at experts level.
The spokesman said that Pakistan believed dialogue is the only way to resolve all the outstanding issues with India. He said date for foreign secretary level talks between the two countries has not yet been fixed.
“The both sides are in constant touch with each other at various levels for the purpose,” Zakaria said.
The spokesperson said the fourth meeting of Quadrilateral Coordination Group on Afghanistan will be held in Kabul on 23rd of this month.
