KARACHI: Every single person out of 12 is infected in the World with Hepatitis B or C and almost 1.4 million people die from viral Hepatitis every year.
In this regard, Special Security Unit (SSU) has started a Hepatitis awareness program including screening and vaccination at its Headquarter to prevent with better awareness and understanding program.
The screening will continue until the tests of all the SSU Commandos and staff including civilian staff is completed. It is also mentioned here that adequate arrangements have been made as preventive measures for vaccination to persons having negative results to protect them from Hepatitis B. If anyone found infected from Hepatitis, the arrangements for their treatment have also been made.
The screening and vaccination campaign has been initiated under the directives of AIGP Security Sindh, Lt. (R) Maqsood Ahmed (TI, PSP) who always takes keen interest in welfare projects and dynamic changes in the light of the modern policing in the world. Welfare activities have been initiated frequently by AIGP Security Sindh Lt® Maqsood Ahmed (TI, PSP) in SSU Headquarter which implies a great impact on the morale of Police personnel.
The AIGP Security has emphasized that better health and physical fitness will always help the commandos to effectively take part in eliminating the menace of terrorism. A group of SSU doctors monitored this program, which include Dr. Shafi and Dr. QuratulAin and the focal person Mohammad Umar, Coordinator of SSU Program for Hepatitis Control.
During the whole day activity, a consultation with doctors was also arranged, whereas the participants and commandos took question and answer session with great interest.
