NAB arrests former PPP Punjab president

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore division took Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) former Punjab president Qasim Zia in custody over corruption of over 100-million rupees.

According to NAB sources, Zia was arrested on Friday following a raid on his residence. Zia is accused of selling fraudulent shares. for conducting fraud in the stock market.

NAB has also been granted 14-day remand of the accused by the accountability court.

Before entering politics Qasim Zia played hockey for 7 years representing Pakistan and holds and Olympic Gold medal.
